220 Million people lost contact this week after Skype suffered a 24 hour outage:
“This problem occurred because of a deficiency in an algorithm within Skype networking software. This controls the interaction between the user’s own Skype client and the rest of the Skype network.”
Sounds to me like a big rubberband broke somewhere, and here was I thinking that this was a peer to peer network which made it very resilient….. PS: Note to Skype users. Anytime you pay nothing for a service you can pretty much guarantee that it is a best endevours service…
