High-tech now backing the Democrats

Analysis

Despite John Chambers being a Republican and a prominent back of John McCain, Cisco gave three times as much ($30,000) to Democratic congressional campaign committees as it did to GOP committees previously, according to SiliconValley.com.

The Web site is reporting that the high-tech and venture capital companies are “now contributing heavily to the Democrats … after years of favoring congressional Republicans.”

Chambers is a friend of the Republicans. Earlier this year he was tapped by McCain to serve as the national co-chair and economic and technology adviser of his presidential exploratory committee, and helped Condoleezza Rice pen an opinion piece about Lebanon which was turned down by numerous publications.
