TiVo/Amazon Unbox review

The Holy Grail for me in terms of entertainment viewing options would be if my TiVo could download Netflix movies, bypassing the whole mail-the-DVD-back thing. A deal was signed between the two companies a while back, but it has bore not fruit to date. But, TiVo does have a deal with the Amazon Unbox that allows customers to buy or rent movies and view them on the TiVo. Very sweet. I haven’t tried it out yet, but Don MacAskill has and gives a very good recap of the pros and cons here. Obviously, it sounds like Amazon needs to up the video encoding quality and movie selection, but it is definitely a step in the right direction.
