When we recently began paying more attention to network-oriented research happening at universities and other such labs, Indiana University admittedly was not on our radar screen. But the school in recent weeks has forced us to take note.

Last week it teamed with Purdue University to establish a new CyberInformatics Lab (informatics involves the application of IT concepts to other fields, such as education and healthcare).

In recent weeks, one Indiana U. scientist made waves with his “active cookies” security technology  and professors there have made news for highlighting the impact of censorship in different countries on how Google and other search engines perform.
