IGrid 2005, a demonstration linking different countries on different continents running multiple apps on multi-10-Gigabit optical networks, won the CENIC 2006 Innovations in Networking Award for Experimental/Development Applications.

The award ceremony was held at CENIC 2006, an annual get-together of researchers and educators, organized by CENIC – the organization that runs the CalREN network that serves all many universities, colleges and schools in California.

CENIC also presented awards to other California efforts to advance the use of high-speed networking. See the full story here.
