Unitrends, a vendor of disk to disk backup appliances, on Monday launched six new appliances that let customers vault and protect data across the enterprise.
Unitrends introduces Recovery-720 data protection appliance
The Recovery-7 appliances transfer data asynchronously among small and midsize branch offices. The Recovery v appliances transfer data from on-site to off-site locations; the Recovery cv appliances provide two-way transfer (bi-directional) between branch offices.
The Recovery appliances are available in three models: The 710 has a 3TB capacity and features a quad-core processors, 8GB of memory and a single gigabit Ethernet controller; the 720 features 6TB of capacity, 2 internal RAID-1 drives, a quad-core CPU and 8GB of memory; and, the 730 offers 15TB of capacity, with internal RAID-1 drives, a quad core CPU and 8GB of memory. The 710 also features and eSATA port for optional external disk seeding. The appliance can replicate data one-to-one or one-to-many and feature a single management console. They are available now for $10,000, $20,000 and $30,000, respectively.
Unitrends has recently simplified its price list for its data protection appliances to make them more attractive to users. The introduction of these three products, not only supports that simplification, but bolsters the company’s product lines.
Unitrends’ appliances are easy installable, making them ideal for small and midsized businesses that may not have dedicated IT staff. The company has recently brought on new management, who is intent on bringing Unitrends appliances to a wider audience at a simplified cost point.
