OK, this is depressing. Just yesterday we posted about companies facing DDoS extortion, and now reader Chad gives us a heads-up to a story that reports hackers are stealing your files and holding them ransom.

“This is equivalent to someone coming into your home, putting your valuables in a safe and not telling you the combination,” said Oliver Friedrichs, a security manager for Symantec Corporation.
