Last we heard, the words “blog” and “work” shouldn’t mix. Blog about your job and chances are you’ll soon be out of blogging material – and the job.
Yet career experts are now saying blogs and “Web portfolios” (aka, Web sites) can help you in a job search. According to the AP: “The idea is to control the information that pops up rather than risk something embarrassing – or nothing at all, said William Arruda, a career consultant in New York.”
Well, we all know how that can turn out.
The article does raise a good point: If you want to get info on people these days – like a potential hire or a new colleague – where do you turn first?
