Former Vice President Al Gore picked up his insanely ironic Lifetime Achievement Award from the Webbys earlier this week, accepting it with the event’s 5-word speech limit: “Please don’t recount this vote.”
Oh, ho, ho, ho. Crap, Al, that was five years ago, get a new schtick.
Gore was introduced by the real Father of the Internet, Vint Cerf, who graciously noted: “We all invented the Internet.”
We don’t know what surprises us more, that the Webbys and Gore are still around and can draw a crowd, or the fact he got a Lifetime Achievement Award.
