Amazon’s celebrity delivery service

Amazon turns 10 this month and to celebrate the e-comm pioneer is offering a cool promotion.

Partnered with UPS, the online superstore is getting celebrities to hand-deliver packages to customers who have ordered something affiliated with said big wig.

For example, tennis sexpot Anna Kournikova showed up to deliver the Addidas sneakers one L.A. customer ordered, while Chris “Mr. Big” Noth popped up on one NYC woman’s doorstep with her “Sex & The City” DVDs.

Pretty cool, except for the woman who ordered “The First Howie Mandel Special” and also got Howie Mandel. Click here for Amazon’s Special Delivery page, where you can watch the surprised customers get their deliveries. Amazon is promising Harrison Ford will deliver “Indiana Jones” DVDs to some lucky soul, which is reason enough for us to order another copy.

Amazon is also holding that live Bob Dylan/Norah Jones online concert on July 16 and even offers a look at its very first, very ugly home page.
