Fox tricks viewers onto Web site

During the All-Star Game earlier this week the Fox network deceived viewers and blurred the line of advertising integrity (if there was one to begin with) by passing off a sign in the stands as a fan’s, rather than the paid ad it was.

Already-despised-by-us announcers Joe Buck and Tim McCarver dropped another peg in our estimation when the camera focused on the sign in the third inning, the duo pretended it was some random fan sign and spent some time discussing what it might mean.

The sign bore the letters HHRYA.com, which is a site run by Chevy to promote its new vehicle, the HHR. Even more inexcusable was the fact Chevy failed to prep its site for the onslaught of All-Star viewers. The site crashed due to traffic and was down for about a half-hour after it was featured on the broadcast.
