Tivo’s everywhere but it still hasn’t made a buck, which is why it’s turning to new projects, such as TV show downloads, to earn some green.
The PVR company announced it’s trialing a project in which subscribers can download TV shows to their Tivo, even before the shows are aired on TV. That’s very cool until you realize Tivo’s partner in the endeavor is the Independent Film Channel…zzzz…
Sorry, even thinking about the IFC makes us sleepy. Anyway, if IFC fare is up your alley, Tivo will offer subscribers the chance to download shows starting this Friday.
What would be really cool is if Tivo could get other channels – you know, the ones with shows you actually want to see – to opt in. But would they? The AP examines.
