Forget who took home the gold statue at Sunday night’s Emmy Awards, the real winner is Amazon.com.

Amazon reports that thanks to the broadcast and subsequent publicity, many of the nominated shows and movies are flying up its sales charts.

For example:

  • The Lost Prince spiked from No. 7530 to No. 286 on Amazon.com’s DVD Top Sellers list, in the wake of winning 3 Emmys, an overnight increase of 2,532% in sales rank, making it No. 1 on the Movers & Shakers list.
  • The HBO FDR movie “Warm Springs” jumped up 1,199% from No. 1819 to No. 140, making it No. 2.
  • And after a heartfelt tribute during the Emmys, The Ultimate Johnny Carson Collection has climbed 770% from No. 1523 to No. 175 on Amazon.com’s Top Sellers list for DVDs, making it No. 3.

We’re thinking the titles are doing ever better on Netflix.
