Judicial blogger unmasked, silenced

We don’t know how many times we have to post this before it sinks in: Do not blog about your workplace.

Thirty-year-old assistant federal prosecutor David Lat of Newark, N.J., is the latest working stiff to clue into this truism. Lat had been running a gossipy blog called Underneath Their Robes – think Page Six for the federal court set.

Posting under the anonymous ID of Article Three Groupie, Lat claimed to be a female and dished the dirt on where judges were seen and heard outside the courtroom and even lists like “Bodacious Babes of the Bench” and “super hottie” male judges.

The blog got popular, naturally, and this week Lat was ID’d by New Yorker magazine. Now the blog is down and Lat is, shall we say, less than chatty. No word on his future as a federal prosecutor.
