NetGear recently settled its class action lawsuit in which California consumers complained that the company’s Wi-Fi speed claims were a tad exaggerated.
Now The Register is wondering why all wireless gear makers aren’t similarly challenged: “The real question in the Netgear class action case is why it only applied to NetGear, given the absurd figures quoted by all Wi-Fi hotspot providers.”
El Reg takes a look at the issue of pre-N MIMO speeds and whether any vendor’s claim can live up to the hype. Interesting stuff.
