A Florida man showing off the OnStar system in his new Cadillac Escalade was arrested for drug possesion after the OnStar operator called police. Ralph Gomez had the volume turned too low so he could not hear the OnStar operator, who, following proper procedures, alerted authorities when they did not get a response from the vehicle’s occupant. Police arrived, figured out everything was okay, but then noticed cocaine sitting in plain view in the Escalade’s center console. It wa a double-whammy for Gomez as the car was parked a 1000 feet from a church, which apparently makes the possession charge more serious.
