Professional video gamers are hoping to unseat poker players and become the Next Big Thing on TV.

USA cable network has signed a deal with Major League Gaming, “the largest sanctioning body for professional gaming,” to air seven one-hour specials showcasing pro gamers competing in the elite circuit.

The show will air Saturday mornings following WWE wrestling starting in November, which just happens to be the beginning of the industry’s biggest selling season.

Seriously, this is the nerdiest thing ever. But what kills us is these gamers could buy and sell us with their couch change. Damn Activision. That stupid Pitfall gave us permanent Atari thumb and ruined our chance to become a professional gamer.
