According to a study by the Intellectual Property Institute, many college students still see no problem in downloading copyrighted material via P2P nets.

While more than one in three collegians take Ye Olde Electronic Five-Fingered Discount, 39% buy files from iTunes – yet 14% of those folks turn off iTunes files’ copyright protection.

And of those who download via P2P, 22% think it’s legal.

“The Intellectual Property Institute is trying to engage students in why IP and copyrights exist in the first place,” they note.

Oh, good luck to them – and to college net admins.
