What was IBM thinking?

Here’s a headline you don’t see often: “Coffee chain brews up POS hardware”.

Now, in our network world – and perhaps yours – “POS” means something entirely different than what IBM intends, “point of sale.”

No one told IBM “POS” means something else? Apparently they haven’t had the POS laptops, POS software and POS cell phones we’ve had. Or else IBM is the most honest vendor on the planet.

What’s worse than calling a product line “POS”? Naming something the “SurePOS 500 terminal.”
