Profs: Ban laptops in class

College professors are running into an old student problem from a new angle.

Students still aren’t paying attention, but now it’s because they’re online, not just hung-over or sleepy.

“At any given moment in a law school class, literally 85 to 90% of the students were online,” says University of Michigan professor Don Herzog. Well, they are future lawyers.

Now many professors nationwide are torn on whether to ban the use of laptops in class. USA Today looks at the issue.
