The Beatles claimed that money can’t buy you love, but Amazon’s Jeff Bezos disagrees.
The super e-tailer CEO says the site may start offering “electronic soul mate” suggestions, which would “pair users with the other Amazon.com customer who has the most similar purchasing history.”
And you thought the “Customers who bought this _____ also bought” suggestions were annoying?
Yet, in true capitalistic fashion, Amazon isn’t doing this out of the bottom of its heart. Writes the AP: “After playing matchmaker, the company also would try to squeeze out an extra purchase, noting what five books your ‘soul mate’ has purchased but you haven’t.”
