Tech wastes time at work

See, all this time you thought technology was making you more efficient, yet a U.K. study says it’s just the opposite.

The research, which is probably easily applicable to its Yankee counterparts, shows that the misuse of technology adds about 2 hours to the average workday.

The study says voicemail, e-mail and the Internet can all distract workers. Well, duh.

It also claims the reliance on voice mail and e-mail and waiting on replies from both increases “time wastage.” Is that a real word?

Interestingly, the study makes no mention of Keith from Accounting, who’s constantly hanging around your cube yammering about his weekend.
