Cambodia bans 3G

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has banned 3G services in his country to curb the spread of pornography.

And he did it at the request of his wife and the wives of several other senior government officials, reports the AP.

In a recent speech, Hun Sen said he agrees with the women, noting that Cambodia can’t handle porn offered via the Internet, so “how can we go for video phones?”

He noted that such content offers “gravely negative consequences for social morality.” Should Cambodians “strengthen the morality of our society,” then it could welcome 3G.
