FCC getting ready to screw up VoIP

Press reports say the FCC will soon be considering levying a universal service charge on VoIP lines. Chairman Kevin Martin is advocating a flat tax for all phone numbers, which would probably bump up your VoIP bill by about $1.75 a month.

Sure, it’s only $1.75, but once the feds get their greasy mitts in there, we’re sure it’s the beginning of the end of cheap VoIP.

Is it too late to bring back Michael Powell?
