So NW colleague/cranky coot Paul McNamara apparently woke up on the wrong side of the coffin this morning and put on his grumpy pants as he takes a pot shot at the “Be a Mac” ad campaign: “In my day, Apples were for bitin’, consarnit!” (Ed. note: Paul is not a 1800s prospector, FYI.)
Actually he wrote: “Virtually everyone Apple hopes to attract as a customer already owns a PC – and many of us ‘PCs’ no longer find amusing the idea that we’re a bunch of dupes. Tell me I’m a fool and then ask for my business? Not bloody likely.”
Paul, you’re just angry because the truth hurts – you’re a fool who still chooses to run a PC. When your octuplets start needing a computer for school, you’re gonna wish you were supporting Macs (and by supporting Macs we mean “turning them on”) as opposed to the fourth level of Hell that is a Windows home network.
Yet in Paul’s defense Apple does seem to do a lot of “preaching to the choir” advertising. But we’re in the choir, so it’s all good by us.
