For Pete’s sake, not even our cows are safe from hackers.
According to the AP, hackers broke into an Agriculture Department network and stole names, Social Security numbers and photos of 26,000 Washington-area employees and contractors. This, obviously, is not good, but do you think anyone at Ag is secretly happy that at least it wasn’t some employee who couldn’t hold onto his or her laptop?
Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns said the department will provide free credit monitoring for one year to anyone who might have been affected. What about the cows? Who’s gonna protect them?
