This is such a good idea it guarantees the fact we’ll never see it at our pathetic home destination, Boston’s Logan Airport.
More enlightened airports are building free “cell parking lots,” where drivers picking up passengers can wait until their charges land. This prevents the drivers from driving around and around and around the arrivals loop, clogging up traffic and angering police.
Once the travelers arrive at the pick-up area, they can call their ride, who can swoop in, pick them up and go.
USA Today reports that nearly 25 of the largest domestic U.S. airports feature the lots, some of which offer free Wi-Fi or even a board displaying flight delay information.
A list of airports offering cell lots, their location and more can be found here (scroll down).
