That’s it, we’ve decided to leave Network World for another more glamorous magazine – “The Feathered Warrior.”
Oh, wait, perhaps we won’t as it may soon be embroiled in a lawsuit regarding Amazon.
The AP reports that The Humane Society of the United States is threatening to sue Amazon.com claiming the retailer sells two cockfighting magazines, the aforementioned “The Feathered Warrior” and “The Gamecock”.
Wow, there really is a magazine for every hobby.
The HSUS wants Amazon to stop selling the magazine. It’s citing the Animal Welfare Act, which says it is unlawful to use the “mail service or the U.S. Postal Service” to promote “an animal-fighting venture except as performed outside the States of the United States.”
“That’s their claim, and we don’t agree with their claim, so we’re going to continue to make these titles available,” said Amazon.com spokeswoman Patty Smith.
