Tom Cruise wins domain battle

Questionable movie star Tom Cruise has defeated the thetans and now he’s vanquished famed cybersquatter Jeff Burgar.

Domain name arbitrator WIPO ruled that tomcruise.com belongs to Cruise and not Burgar, who has registered the domain names of hundreds of celebrities. The domains point to Burgar’s Celebrity1000.com.

Burgar claimed tomcruise.com was a fan site, Cruise’s lawyers argued Burgar was violating Cruise’s trademark on his own name and that Burgar was making money off third-party ads on Celebrity1000.

Burgar has also lost the domain names of Celine Dion, Kevin Spacey and Pamela Anderson, yet won his BruceSpringsteen.com case.

Here’s one Burgar can grab: wheressuri.com.
