Dell has stood by Sony in the wake of its flammable laptop batteries – will Apple follow suit?
FruitCo. has issued a recall of 1.8 million lithium-ion batteries made by a Sony subsidiary in Japan, saying they could catch fire.
The recall affects batteries in 12-inch iBook G4, 12-inch PowerBook G4 and 15-inch PowerBook G4 laptops sold in the United States from October 2003 through August 2006. And, unlike Dell, it’s already got all the recall information and instructions on its Web site.
