iPod slave labor dispute’s odd ending

Opinion

When last we left the whole cheap-labor-iPod-China dispute, Apple was looking into the whole slave wages thing. Since then the plant responsible for the alleged horrible working conditions, Hongfujin Precision Industry, filed a lawsuit against two China Business News journalists who broke the story. About 10 minutes later, Hongfujin dropped the suit. According to BBC News, the paper and the manufacturer released a joint statement in which they “pledged to work together to protect workers’ rights and to respect their own business activities.” So, basically, a plan of censorship and looking the other way?
