Funny cell story or guerilla marketing?

Web designer Ben Clemens says his cell phone was stolen on an Amtrak commuter train in California last month.

On the phone Clemens had software installed that automatically uploaded any pictures taken by his camera phone to his Flickr account.

So you can imagine his surprise when the theif started taking pictures and unknowingly uploading them to Clemens’ Flickr site. Despite the photos, not much is known about the thief, except he really loves his Chihuahua.

Cute story, right? Some say it’s too cute and is probably a guerilla marketing campaign by Clemens and/or the photo-uploading software folks. You decide.
