  A 75-year-old London woman was denied the opportunity to buy a cell phone, as the clerk suggested she return with a younger family member before signing the contract. Carphone Warehouse, Europe’s largest mobile phone retailer, denied the charge, but told The AP “representatives could refuse service to customers who did not appear to understand the contract, no matter what their age.” Septuagenarian Shirley Greening-Jackson says she’s “absolutely furious” and accuses the company of ageism.
