If you’re interested in really old news, has Google got a deal for you. The behemoth has opened news archives reaching back 300 years. The Register reports so far few publications have forked over their morgues, although Time and the UK’s Guardian newspaper have chipped in. Tightwads The New York Times and Wall Street Journal still want you to pony up for a peek at their back issues. The thing we like the best about this are the random search terms it comes up with when you hit the site. Our first three search terms were “mickey mouse,” “battle of moscow” and “margaret thatcher.” Via The Register
