If you watch ESPN for more than 23 seconds, you’ll see a commercial for ESPN Mobile. But they may not be around forever, as ESPN Mobile is performing as well as Stuart Scott is entertaining. (Ed. – Boo ya!) Forbes says the service was in trouble right out of the gate as the phone ($400) and service ($65 to $225 per month) were super expensive. “In July, Merrill Lynch media analyst Jessica Reif Cohen suggested that Disney shut down the service altogether, projecting that Mobile ESPN was likely to attract just 30,000 subscribers by the end of the year.” OK, that is bad. Forbes reports ESPN Mobile will be broadcasting entire football games via its cell service in an attempt to gain more subscribers. Via Forbes
