Cult clash ahead: Apple v. Tivo

  Wired columnist Leander Kahney says Tivo is about to be trumped by Apple’s upcoming iTV set-top box. But it’s a verb! Who can trump a verb? Apparently Apple can: “Apple wasn’t the first to market with an MP3 player, which in 2001 were hard to use and poorly designed. Thanks to this, they were largely avoided until the iPod came along,” notes Kahney. “I predict the iTV may be a similar success because it’s got all the same iPod factors – elegantly designed, easy to set up, and thanks to Cover Flow, very easy to use.” If you missed all the news out of Apple Tuesday, here’s a roundup, and here’s a bunch of pretty prototypes.
