Apple insults Muslims?

Man, that Apple thinks it can do anything – like build a store that resembles a sacred Islamic building. So says The Middle East Media Research Institute, which believes the much-vaunted NYC Fifth Avenue store too closely mimics Muslims’ Ka’ba, the most holy Islamic structure in Mecca. The institute is further ticked because “the offending structure is known as the ‘Apple Mecca,’ and ‘contains bars selling alcoholic beverages,” constituting “a blatant insult to Islam,” reports The Register. Wait, the Apple store sells booze? That’s gotta be wrong. And if it’s not, 1 Appletini, please. Via The Register
