A new Web site is aiming at an interesting demographic: searchers over the age of 50. Giving into the cranky old man stereotype, the site is called what else: Cranky.com. A quick look a the site’s Top 10 doesn’t show anything particularly over-50ish, except maybe for the “jobs after retirement” and “elderhostel” items. The Top 10: 1.brain builders 2.jobs after retirement 3.work from home 4.body mass index 5.make new friends 6.elderhostel 7. blogs 8. reiki 9. stephen king 10. sex.The reason for such as site? This steadily growing demographic often feels overwhelmed using high-powered search engines from the likes of Google and Yahoo because they spew out more results than older eyes care to see, Jeff Taylor, the Cranky mastermind who previously struck it rich as the founder of online employment site Monster.com told MSNBC.
