TV terrorism? Porn invades staid programming

Maybe it was really just another episode of America’s Funniest Home Videos. Well, no on second glance, it was porn. Viewers in Phoenix, Ariz. were shocked earlier this week when a cable news program they were watching was temporarily replaced with hard-core pornography. The viewers had been watching a health show featuring former NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw. The TV station, KPPX-TV called the subterfuge “an act of human sabotage.” Indeed, most cable companies charge an extra arm and a leg for porn shows. Kidding aside, Cox spokeswoman Andrea Katsenes said that the unexpected clips were not caused by Cox, and that the problem was a “source issue” with the broadcaster. I’ll say, I thought this kind of thing only happened in the movies – you know where the bad guy takes over your TV to tell you something scary like Mars is invading. Published reports indicate no one can quite tell how the “bonus programming” was inserted in the broadcast but seem pretty likely an inside job.
