NetApp on Tuesday rolled out end-to-end Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) connectivity with new partnerships with QLogic and Brocade. NetApp chose QLogic to provide converged network adapters (CNA) for all its storage systems and controllers. The company also announced three Brocade products that it will OEM – a new Brocade switch for the DCX or DCX-4S backbone, a blade and converged network adapters. NetApp will also recommend QLogic’s converged network adapters for host connectivity. The Brocade 8000 FCoE switch and the Brocade 1020 CAN are expected to be available this month. The FCoE blade for the DCX and DCX-4S is expected to be available in September. The company will rebrand QLogic’s 8152 adapter as the NetApp Unified Target Adapter when it is used in NetApp storage systems and as the QLogic Converged Network Adapter when used in host computers.
