Iomega on Thursday introduced a new four-drive NAS appliance, the StorCenter ix4-200d. The appliance is optimized for the SMB market — it can be configured in four mouse clicks, according to Iomega claims. The ix4-200d has an iSCSI interface, supports Windows Active Directory and multiple RAID configurations. In addition, Iomega offers device-to-device replication for disaster recovery and business continuity. The appliance also has VMware certification. It uses as many as four Serial ATA drives and has three USB ports for adding printers or additional USB-based storage capacity. The 2TB StorCenter ix4-200d NAS appliance is now available for $699.99; the 4TB model is $899.99, and the 8TB model is $1,900.
