Brocade enhances fabric management software

Brocade at VMworld on Monday announced enhancements to its Data Center Fabric Manager (DCFM) software that allow visibility into virtual machines and storage-area networks. DCFM now allows SAN administrators to view virtual machine properties from the server to storage for SANs using Brocade host bus adapters and switches. The software also supports a plug-in for VMware vCenter that supplies key metrics and alerts for troubleshooting purposes. The company is also introducing Server Application Optimization (SAO) for its Fibre Channel adapters and switches that allow application-aware quality of service. DCFM 10.3 is expected to be available in September. The plug-in is expected to be available mid-2010 and SAO is available today.
