Dell on Wednesday introduced the PowerVault NX300, a network attached storage appliance that uses Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2008. The NX300 provides as much as 4TB of storage capacity and is a rack-mounted device. It features Single Instant storage technology, which eliminates duplicate files, and uses Distributed File System technology to group shares in different locations under one DFS root. In addition, the NX300 supports Dell’s OpenManage System Management software. The NX300 is expected to ship Oct. 12 for $3,000.
