EMC rolls out Fibre Channel over Ethernet switch

EMC on Monday announced the EMC Connectrix MP-8000B switch, a Fibre Channel over Ethernet switch based on Brocade technology. The switch features eight 8Gbps Fibre Channel ports and 24 10Gbit Ethernet ports. It integrates with existing Fibre Channel storage-area networks and with the Ethernet infrastructure. The switch supports inter-switch link trunking, performance monitoring and Fabric Watch services and is managed by the Connectrix Manager Data Center Edition. It is available immediately.
