HP announced on Tuesday new management and service solutions that extend the benefits of virtualization to the desktop. Included in the announcement is a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solution for less than $1,000 per user seat. The price includes the VDI hardware and software components (VMware View Premier, Microsoft VECD, and HP software licenses) for a fully loaded virtual desktop configuration for 750 productivity users. New service offerings reduce TCO and risk while deploying best practices with the new HP SAN Readiness Assessment for Server Virtualization and the newly packaged HP Migration Services for VMware vSphere.
