VKernel announced Wednesday the addition of NFS support to its Capacity Analyzer, an optimization tool for virtual machines. NFS disk I/O is not available through vCenter or other VMware management tools and has previously been available only at the per-volume level. Analysis of NFS disk I/O is a cumbersome process, which involves setting up a monitoring solution to keep track of specific volumes and find opportunities for optimization or to identify performance bottlenecks. Now, administrators are able to receive a high level view in which to monitor their full environment.
