Fujitsu on Thursday launched new mono-socket PRIMERGY rack and tower servers with improved price performance features. The entry level servers have optimized architecture to take advantage of the dual-core 32nm Intel ‘Clarkdale’ processors which Intel announced Thursday including the Pentium G6950, and Intel Core i3-530 and 540 models. In addition to the new processors, the new models have second-generation (Gen2) PCIe slots and SAS 2.0 interfaces and can expand up to 32GB of RAM. PRIMERGY RX100 S6 rack server features a modular hard drive concept, supporting either two 3.5-inch drives or four 2.5-inch drives, with modular RAID configurations supporting SATA, SAS and solid state drives.
