Dell on Wednesday last week introduced a number of new products, services and technology packages that fit in with its unified data center architecture. The products are designed with data center customers in mind and will help them deploy virtualization-ready data center environments.

The new products and packages include six Business Ready Configurations that consist of pre-configured server, network and storage gear to work in either VMware or Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization environments.
The new storage products include Dell EqualLogic and PowerVault storage platforms — a Dell EqualLogic PS6000 XVS and PS6010XVS arrays that combine Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) and solid state drives (SSD) in the same enclosure and new EqualLogic 5.0 firmware that can automatically move data between tiers of storage in EqualLogic arrays. New storage products also include the PowerVault MD3200 and MD3200i storage arrays designed for small-to-midsize businesses and with two times the performance, two times the number of host connections and twice the capacity of previous generation arrays.
Dell also announced two new PowerEdge blades and one rack server — the PowerEdge M710HD blade server uses Intel Xeon processors and supports hot-swappable SAS or SSD drive options. The PowerEdge M610x is powerful blade that cations NVIDIA’s Tesla “Fermi” class graphical processing units or Fusion-IO’s ioDrive Duo for high performance database applications.
In addition Dell rolled out the PowerEdge R715, a 2U rack-mounted server with 24 processing cores and its first Juniper-based Ethernet switches — The PowerConnect J-Series EX8200 family, which is designed for small data centers and branch offices, and the J-Series SRX family of Service Gateway products. The company also introduced the Dell PowerConnect 8024 Ethernet switch, a 24-port 10GBase-T switch featuring Layer 3 routing.
Further the company introduced new services and support for virtualization and EqualLogic array support.
The Dell PowerConnect-J series of network offerings are expected to be available in July. The Dell EqualLogic PS6000XVS and EqualLogic PS6010XVS are expected as soon as early August. The EqualLogic 5.0 firmware is available today. The Dell PowerVault MD3200, PowerVault MD3200i and PowerConnect 8024 are available next week. The Dell PowerEdge M610x, PowerEdge M710HD and PowerEdge R715 is expected to be available in July.
