Microsoft has gotten into bed with the Chinese government, installing a filter that detects prohibited keywords typed in blogs.
Those who use MSN Web spaces to blog in China and try to type words like “freedom,” “human rights” and the like get the message: “Prohibited language in text, please delete.” At least they said please.
According to the AP: “a spokesman at the tech giant’s headquarters in Seattle acknowledged that the company is cooperating with the Chinese government to censor its Chinese-language Web portal.”
Isn’t Gates a big human rights philanthropist via his gazillion-dollar foundation?
