BBC weather map flap

Here in New England, we do our fair share of complaining about the weather. It’s either too hot or too cold, or it’s not as sunny as the forecast promised. But in the U.K., they’re taking the bitching a step further by complaining about the new 3D weather maps the BBC is using for their forecasts. People in Scotland think the map poorly represents the size of their land mass (sounds like jealousy to me), to the point where the Scottish National Party is calling on the television network to rethink its strategy. Another Briton wrote in to complain that the color of the land is brown and not “green and pleasant”. Really? We’re just happy with a 5-day forecast the shows the project highs and lows and whether or not there’s a chance of precipitation.
